Mission and Goals
The Faculty Diversity LENS (Leading to Equitably Navigate Searches) Program helps to create a more equitable, transparent and efficient faculty hiring process. We oversee the Department of Medicine's diversity and inclusion initiatives in faculty recruitment, through systematic improvements to the search process -- including outreach, training, interviews and institutional culture.
Specific Goals And Objectives
We are creating a more equitable, transparent and efficient faculty hiring process. Our mission is to increase faculty diversity (including women, under-represented racial & ethnic groups, LGBTQ+) in initial candidate pool, finalist pool and the final faculty hire, while ensuring candidate excellence. More specifically, we improve awareness and reduce bias throughout the hiring process, through structural changes to the search and hire process. Faculty Diversity LENS Program....
