Leadership Development Program (LDP) for Non-Academic Staff
Leadership Development Program (LDP) for Non-Academic Staff The Leadership Development Program (LDP) for Non-Academic Staff in the Department of Medicine (DOM) is intended for high potential employees who are individual contributors (non-managers) in our department.
A High-Potential employee is: An employee “who is capable of rising to and succeeding at a more senior, critical role (and whose potential can be measured by) their personal aspiration, functional ability, and engagement.” - CEB Corporate Leadership Council
The program aims to give participants an overview of our Department, as well as our School, while also exposing them to the individuals leading our Department and School. High-potential employees will have the opportunity to learn about the Department and think of their own career trajectory and how to get to the next step.
The Program runs from June 2023-July 2023 and requires about an 8 hour commitment per month. Program sessions will take place in the morning and will cover presentations by leaders on various functional areas as well as workshops on self-branding, self-awareness and completion of a case study by each participant.
Participants will benefit from the opportunity to learn about our Department, the largest department in the entire University as well as engaging in workshops that will help them with their own self-awareness and branding. The Program also offers participants the opportunity to meet Department and School leaders and network with other High-Potential employees.
- Active DOM staff in non-academic, benefited position
- Staff in all classifications and salary grades A through G in non-managerial positions
- Trial period AND one year of service with Department of Medicine completed by the first session, June 7, 2023
Participants will be selected by a committee after a review of their application and a supervisor's letter of support. Selection will be based on factors including recognized leadership potential, demonstrated initiative/engagement, excellent performance and personal aspiration.
