Two Senior Vice Chairs Appointed

As the Department of Medicine has grown over the last 5 years, so has the complexity of its relationships with Stanford Health Care, the School, the University, the Dean’s office and other departments. To ensure that the Department continues to be well-represented across Stanford Medicine and the University, Chair Robert Harrington, MD, has appointed two new Senior Vice Chairs.

Andrew Hoffman, MD (professor, endocrinology) will serve as Senior Vice Chair-Academic Affairs, increasing his responsibilities to include key committees and activities that intersect between the DOM’s research and education mission and the School of Medicine.

Ann Weinacker, MD (professor, pulmonary and critical care) is assuming a new role as Senior Vice Chair-Clinical Operations, and will represent the Department on matters relating to the Department’s clinical mission and Stanford Health Care operations.

By taking on additional operating responsibilities, Drs. Weinacker and Hoffman will assure that the most senior departmental leaders can continue to be present for all discussions that impact Departmental faculty, trainees and staff.
