About DoM Faculty Development

The Department of Medicine's Office of Faculty Development supports faculty across roles, ranks, and academic lines by serving as a connector and navigator within Stanford Medicine.

The Stanford environment is rich with opportunities—mentoring programs, leadership training, grant development support, teaching resources, wellness services, and affinity communities—but it can be difficult to know what applies to you and when. We make that landscape easier to understand and navigate.

What we do

  • Connect faculty to resources across DoM, the School of Medicine, Stanford Health Care, and the University (e.g., onboarding, research infrastructure, teaching support, leadership development, wellness, community).
  • Build community through events and faculty networks that reduce isolation and increase cross-divisional collaboration.
  • Support mentorship and advancement by guiding faculty toward mentoring relationships, promotion-oriented resources, and skill-building programs.
  • Curate practical tools (tipsheets, key links, “who to contact,” and recommended starting points) so you can move from questions to action quickly.

How to engage with us

You can participate through structured programs, attend events, or reach out for help identifying the right next step. Our goal is simple: get you connected to what you need—faster—and help you build an academic career that reflects your goals and strengths.
