The Blood & Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (BMT-CT) Division at Stanford performs autologous and allogeneic transplantations for over 300 patients each year. The program has been very successful with a history of limited morbidity rates and acute mortality that is well below most published reports. In addition to a successful clinical practice, our program researchers are translating their discoveries into new therapies, advancing the efficacy of hematopoietic cell transplantation for patients worldwide.

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is a dynamic and innovative center dedicated to excellence in research, medical education, and clinical care. Our division is driven by over 80 faculty, clinician educators and instructors, clinician educators and instructors who are the pillar of strength in the Division's ongoing efforts into the prevention, and treatment of cardiovascular disease. We deliver compassionate and cutting edge preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients with coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, arrhythmia, aortic disease and heart failure.

The Clinical Research Hub(CRH) is a leading ARO and an epicenter for clinical research operations at Stanford University. We offer full research capabilities: from study design to publication. Our rigorous scientific investigations are supported by high-quality and efficient operational processes undertaken by well-trained clinical research staff. Our team has expertise in diverse therapeutic areas and modalities such as drugs, devices, digital health, and behavioral interventions. CRH's dedicated team optimizes project success and sponsor satisfaction by leveraging the synergies from co-leadership with talented operations staff and experienced faculty.

At the Division of Computational Medicine, we develop cutting-edge ways to acquire, represent, and process information about human health. In order to handle the ever increasing amounts of data in healthcare and biomedical research, our faculty, students, and staff investigate and create novel computational, statistical, organizational, and decision-making methods. Our research advances the state of the art in semantic technology, biostatistics, and the modeling of biomedical systems to benefit clinical and translational research as well as patient care.

The Division for Research and Education in Academic Medicine (DREAM) brings together six department programs and centers dedicated to advancing research and education in academic medicine. Providing administrative and operational support with a focus on process improvement, DREAM is committed to collaborating closely with center leadership to execute their strategic visions, fostering their growth and expansion, and collectively, contributing to the long-term goal of elevating the Department of Medicine into a billion-dollar venture.

The Division of Hematology encompasses high impact basic and clinical research, clinical practice with compassionate, high quality, patient-centered care, and education of a diverse group of future leaders in academic hematology. Our basic researchers explore aspects of the biology of diverse cancers, benign and congenital blood disorders, and the microbiome. Our clinical investigators have a strong focus on active clinical trials to assess the efficacy and accelerate approval of novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of blood diseases. A major priority of the division is to translate the results of biomedical innovation and research from the laboratory into the clinic to provide new diagnostic approaches and treatment for hematologic disorders. Our mission is to help patients by delivering a transformative model of care.

With over 185 faculty across 12 clinical sections, the Stanford Division of Hospital Medicine is one of the fastest-growing hospital medicine programs in the country. Our physicians care for one-third of all inpatients at Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto, 95% of patients at Stanford Medicine Tri-Valley, and patients at community partner sites including Sequoia Hospital and St. Rose. Our faculty have contributed over 460 publications in journals including NEJM, JAMA, and Nature Medicine, with active programs in AI, health policy, and clinical trials. In addition to clinical care, our group has the privilege of educating medical students and residents throughout their journey, from the first day of medical school to the last day of residency.

The work of the Division of Oncology bridges the worlds of basic science, clinical diagnosis and the treatment of cancer. Our basic investigative activities concentrate on immunology, genetics/genomics, pharmacology, DNA repair and oncogene action. Our clinical science covers each cancer type; has a strong focus in clinical trials of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, and in correlative laboratory studies. Our work is supported by a portfolio of peer-reviewed grants, industrial agreements and research endowments.

The Stanford Prevention Research Center (SPRC) is a consortium of renowned experts who are world leaders in investigating ways to prevent disease and promote health. Their work is focused on identifying the most practical, science-based solutions for addressing some of society's most pervasive-and preventable-health issues, such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic conditions and to raise the standards of scientific investigation that matters for health. SPRC investigators are collaborating on numerous, long-term projects designed to translate research into effective ways to promote well-being at every stage of life.

Clinical care has grown dramatically at Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley in the past decade, with significant investments in both inpatient and outpatient infrastructure and many different medical specialties represented among the 100+ full-time faculty. This growth, spurred by a rising, diverse patient population, is opening up new opportunities for clinical research and team science. Research at Tri-Valley was jumpstarted in 2020, when the Covid pandemic prompted the launch of a clinical trial in a matter of weeks.Since then, half a dozen more trials have been started or were completed and other research areas have been added or are being explored.
