The recently announced 2024 Chair Diversity Investigator Awards went to four projects, ranging in subject from bridging gaps in maternal cardiovascular health to interventions for food insecurity. These awards, now in their fourth year, seek to "support research that addresses health inequity, social determinants of health, cultural competence, outcomes improvement, and health system access/utilization for racial, and ethnic, and sexual and gender minorities, among many other possibilities." Recipients are awarded grants of $50,000 to be spent over two years, and will present their findings during future medical grand rounds.
Interim Department of Medicine Chair Yvonne "Bonnie" Maldonado, MD, thanked the awardees for their excellent proposals, saying "Your selection reflects well on your accomplishments and promise and echoes the enthusiasm shared by the committee. We look forward to having you present your research findings to the Stanford community and to wider audiences."
