David Maron Named C. F. Rehnborg Professor

David Maron, MD, was recently appointed the C. F. Rehnborg Professor for his innovative work on cardiovascular disease prevention. The award recognizes his accomplishments related to preventative cardiology and his extensive experience in multicenter clinical trials, including Stanford’s Ischemia trial.

Endowed in 1989 by the Rehnborg family, Amway Corporation and the Nutrilite Foundation, the C. F. Rehnborg Professor award honors Carl F. Rehnborg, who dedicated his research to disease prevention through improved nutrition and diet. He produced what is believed to be the first multivitamin/multimineral dietary supplement marketed in the United States.

As the highest honor bestowed in academia, endowed professorships signify our institution’s confidence in a faculty member and provide ongoing financial support for the individual’s research endeavors. Please join us in congratulating him.
