GI Fellows Among Top Finishers in 2016 Jeopardy Competition

Jessica Yu and Allison Kwong at ACG

Stanford GI fellows Allison Kwong, MD, and Jessica Yu, MD, competed as a two-person team in the 2016 GI Jeopardy. In the initial online rounds of the annual competition hosted by the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the pair competed with fellows from 127 GI training programs across the country. Thanks to their stellar performance, they rose through the ranks and competed as one of the top five teams in front of a live audience at the finals in October.

Allison Kwong earned her MD from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine residency at UCSF. Jessica Yu attended medical school at the University of Michigan, and completed a hospitalist year after her residency. Both Allison and Jessica are now gastroenterology fellows at Stanford. In addition, Allison is a new masters student in epidemiology and clinical research, and Jessica is a masters student in health services research.

GI Jeopardy is a friendly competition sponsored each year by the ACG. This year’s Jeopardy finals were held in Las Vegas.
