Education
The Stanford Department of Medicine has a long history of training exceptional clinicians and researchers in a vast array of disciplines to improve the health of people everywhere. We are a community of practitioners, researchers, advocates, faculty, fellows, residents, students, staff, and more, all committed to advancing care and scientific discovery for patients and populations locally and globally.
The settings in which we teach and learn range broadly from primary care clinics to highly specialized quaternary centers on our campus, from wet labs of molecular genetics to dry labs of data-driven AI applications, working to develop new health care practices, expand research understandings, and create new medical technologies all serve our deep commitment to the human practice of medicine — the core humanity of our patients stays at the forefront of all our ongoing education efforts.
Importantly, it’s not just the work that makes us who we are—it’s the people. The faculty, trainees, and staff who drive education in the Department of Medicine are hardworking, passionate people who care deeply about building new generations of medical educators. No matter whether it’s our first day in medicine or we’ve been doing this for decades, we all strive to make learning in the department an experience like nowhere else.
We hope you’ll explore our websites and join us!
