Symposium on Society and Medicine
2008 Series: Medicine and the Public Trust

Health of individual patients and the population as a whole require a broader view of the practice of medicine and active participation and leadership by physicians. The Department of Medicine Symposium on Society and Health is designed to encourage a continuing dialogue at Stanford and throughout the nation on topics that are central to health care system, financing, disparity, and many others.

The 2008 series “Medicine and the Public Trust” will engage noteworthy experts in the field of health policy to discuss the crucial health care issues facing physicians and the public. The speakers will appear at Medicine Grand Rounds throughout 2008.
