J & J Global Health Scholars Program Expands to Stanford


 
June 29, 2009-Eight Stanford residents and five career physicians will take part in the newly expanded Yale/Stanford Johnson & Johnson Physician Scholars in International Health Program. Michele Barry, MD, FACP Senior Associate Dean for Global Health and Director of Global Health

Programs in Medicine at Stanford serves as program director. Barry was the program co-director when she was at Yale and has sent more than 1000 physicians overseas to underserved areas.

In 2009-2010, the program is sponsoring 39 physicians from applicats at Yale, Stanford and other programs. The Stanford candidates were selected by a group of 10 reviewers and were chosen from 123 outstanding applicants. The Stanford residents and career physicians will be fully funded for a six- week rotation in the following program locations.
