Residents Receive Awards and Recognition at Annual ACP Conference

21 Stanford residents traveled to San Francisco to attend and present at this year’s American College of Physicians Scientific Meeting.

The three-day event brought together internists, medical students and residents to share recent medical advances and to discuss local and national issues facing internal medicine.  The conference also featured three contests: a medical jeopardy competition and two poster competitions.  Four Stanford residents -- Mala Mandyam, Ping Wang, Michael Spinner and Naomi Sterling-Boyd  -- received awards for their quality improvement and clinical vignette posters.

Ron Witteles, Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program, offered his congratulations to the residents “who represented our program so well and made us all proud.” Jim Boonyaratanakornkit, Chief Resident of Internal Medicine, echoed this sentiment, adding: “We recognize how challenging it can be to participate in conferences during your busy schedules. You represented our program beautifully and professionally.”
