Paul Bollyky Receives Falk Medical Research Trust Transformational Award

Paul Bollyky, MD, assistant professor of infectious diseases, has just received a Falk Medical Research Trust Transformational Award. The award is a $1 million grant over two years to continue research into treating and curing diseases. Bollyky’s research project, titled “Targeting Bacteriophage to Treat Biofilm Infections,” will advance his work on Pseudomonas and phage vaccines. Upinder Singh, MD, professor of infectious diseases and geographic medicine, calls the award "a testament to Paul’s incredible creativity and perseverance."

The Dr. Ralph and Marian Falk Medical Research Trust, founded in 1979, aims to support and fund “medical research to improve treatments of the past and eventually find cures for diseases for which no definite cure is known.” They hope that the Transformational Award will “provide a bridge to the technology transfer process for moving an exciting health care innovation to the next step in commercial development.”
