Gerald Reaven Memorial Service Set for May 24
The memorial service for Gerald “Jerry” Reaven, MD, professor emeritus of medicine, will be held on Thursday, May 24 from 4-7 p.m. in McCaw Hall at the Arrillaga Alumni Center. Reaven was one of the first researchers to declare the existence of insulin resistance, a controversial stance that was met with considerable opposition from the medical establishment. But Reaven stood his ground, and was proven correct.
