Sir William Osler, is one of the most honored names in medicine. His writings, on medicine, education and the human condition are still used today in medical education and clinical practice. Osler Evenings were the idea of Abraham Verghese, MD, senior associate chair and professor of the theory and practice of medicine. Guest speakers and attendees gather for advice and informal discussions about the art and science of medicine.

The inaugural Osler Evening took place on Monday, May 12, 2008, and spotlighted internist Rick Hodes, MD, an expert in International Medicine. Additional speakers include: Steve McGee, MD, professor of medicine at the University of Washington and a proponent of the theory of "evidence based medicine."
